Lasting Powers of Attorney
Lasting Powers of Attorney are legal documents that you sign allowing you to choose someone (now the Attorney) you trust to make decisions on your behalf. These decisions can regard finances, property and other affairs or your health, care and personal welfare at a time in the future when you no longer wish to make those decisions or if you lack the mental capacity to make those decisions for yourself.
On 1st October 2007 the Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) changed to become the Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA).
Clients often comment that having signed a Lasting Power of Attorney they have peace of mind. Knowing that it will be much easier for their family in often difficult circumstances.
